This has been an exciting year. My son Justin graduated from U.K....married Libby... and they are off on their own adventure in Virginia. Justin and Libby are doing well and are very much in love. I could not be more proud of them.

We have a new addition to our crew. Ella has arrived! I just do not know if they make life jackets this small...but I will find out. I can not wait until spring when Ella can join the crew on Dock Holiday. My daughter Sara and son in law Tommy are Ella's proud parents...and I do mean proud. Ella is a beautiful baby with great parents and grandparents who love her. Check the blog this summer for pictures of Ella's first houseboat trip. By the way...Ella has been instructed by my daughter to call me "Pop Pop"...more on that
later.

Sunset

Janae and I spent a week on Lake Cumberland this summer. This is the beautiful sunset from July 5, 2007. This picture was taken from the top deck of Dock Holiday while we watched the sunset from our secluded cove. There is something so relaxing and calming about being on the water. It has always been my favorite way to unwind.

Boat Dog

I used to believe that boating and dogs were not a good combination. There are many reasons why I felt this way...the main one being the barking that can disturb others in the close quarters of most marinas. My mother gave my wife a puppy a couple of years ago. How do you tell your mom no? We agreed to take the dog home for a trial, and she moved in. The dog adapted to our hectic schedules at home, and was comfortable with boating from the start. Boat Dog adds a lot to our time on the lake. She is special in that she does not bark... but she is a great watch dog. She adds a touch of warmth where ever we are. My worst fears have been realized. I am beginning to like her!

It is January and is cold. There is what is left of a snowfall in the yard. My thoughts naturally turn to the previous summer and all the fun our family had on Dock Holiday.
